Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have. We are the data controller.

What we collect

When you order: name, billing and delivery address, email, telephone number, order contents and value.
Payment data: handled by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment plus the card type and last four digits — we never see or store your full card number.
When we deliver large furniture: access notes, parking and stair information, and a contact number for the delivery crew.
For made-to-order or restoration work: dimensions, photographs of your room or your furniture, and the specification you approve.
When you contact us: the content of emails, calls and messages.
When you subscribe: your email address and marketing preferences.
Automatically: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed and referring site, via cookies and similar technologies.

Who we share it with

Only those who need it: our ecommerce platform (Shopify), payment providers, parcel carriers and our two-person furniture delivery partners, the workshops that carry out made-to-order and restoration work, our email and analytics providers, and our accountants. They act on our instructions under contract. We also disclose data where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, so your data keeps an equivalent level of protection.

How long we keep it

Order and transaction records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
Made-to-order specifications and photographs: 3 years, so we can remake or match a piece.
Customer service correspondence: 3 years from last contact.
Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, and up to 2 years of inactivity after that.
Analytics data: up to 26 months.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you may access your data, have inaccurate data corrected, have data erased, restrict or object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@homartuk.com; we respond within one month and there is no charge.

You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office — ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113 — though we'd like the chance to put things right first.

Cookies

Cookies strictly necessary for the site and basket to work do not require consent. Analytics and marketing cookies are used only if you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time.

Marketing

We only send marketing emails if you have opted in, or if you have bought from us and we are offering similar products. Every email carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
